The E4360A SAS Mainframe is an instrument specifically designed for solar array simulation. It is a module-based solar array simulator that comprises the mainframe (E4360A) and accomodates up to two modules which are sold separately (E4361A and E4362A). The E4360A provides up to 2 outputs and up to 1200 W in a compact 2U-high mainframe, making it a space-efficient solution for any laboratory or testing facility.
The E4360A SAS mainframe is designed with space efficiency in mind. Its 2U high size saves valuable rack space. It also features standard interfaces, including LAN, USB, and GPIB, for seamless integration into test systems. Its client-server model server control allows access to the system by multiple applications and an internet browser web monitor for viewing the status of the system remotely.
To further simplify test system software development, the 14360A System Control Tool software package is included, enabling efficient programming and control of multiple SASs. It is shipped standard with every E4360 Modular Mainframe. There are three components of the 14360A System Control Tools: the system driver, the configuration wizard, and the server control.
In addition, the E4360 SAS offers pre-configured options to meet specific user requirements. It is available both as a standalone off-the-shelf instrument to a fully tested and assembled instrument with versions E4367A and E4368A.
With the E4360A system, engineers and researchers are empowered to accurately simulate solar array behavior when conducting solar power testing and development. Applications for the instrument include satellite testing and residential photovoltaic (PV) testing.
