The Problem:
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) events are problematic in electronics manufacturing, where damage to sensitive circuits can compromise product quality and reliability, and in hazardous environments, where ignition of flammable or explosive materials can be catastrophic. Currently available products for ESD prevention hamper mobility, lack reliability and fail to provide actionable data.

Solution:
At IONA we believe that accurate measurement of electrostatic charge buildup is critical to preventing ESD events. The StatIQ Band is an unobtrusive device worn on the engineer or technician's upper arm, which uses an electric field mill of unprecedented size and accuracy to measure the user's electrostatic charge. It features an audible alarm that alerts the user when a given body voltage threshold is exceeded, or when an electrostatic discharge as low as 100V is experienced, far below what is physically perceptible. Data can be analyzed in a mobile app or aggregated for analysis in a cloud-based dashboard, which enables QA managers to monitor ESD conditions and incidents in their workplace like they never have before.

The SB200 is the same device as the SB100 but without any onboard radios. That means it does not have Bluetooth or any other wireless communication capabilities. Feedback from the product is solely via the audible alarms and the middle LED on the top edge. This means it is usable in secure environments. It is effectively a 'constant monitor' for mobile personnel, and rather than testing the resistance of a ground connection, it measures the body voltage of the wearer, which is much more indicative of impending ESD damage.
