The frame and spindles on Mitutoyo’s micrometer heads are constructed of special hardened steel that minimizes flex and fluctuations due to temperatures for better, repeatable accuracy. The ratchet thimble provides a constant measuring force on the spindle to ensure accurate, repeatable measurements.
