The USB-1024LS is a digital I/O device that has 24 bits of digital I/O and one 32-bit external event counter. It is powered by the +5 volt USB supply and does not require any external power. The device has an on-board industry standard 82C55 programmable peripheral interface chip that provides the 24 discrete digital I/O lines in four ports. Each digital port can be configured independently for either input or output. All I/O connections are made to the screw terminals located along each side of the USB-1024LS.

The USB-1024LS is designed to work with USB ports and relies upon the Microsoft Human Interface Device (HID) class drivers. These drivers are included with every copy of Windows that is designed to work with USB ports. The device is plug-and-play and does not require any jumpers to position, DIP switches to set, or interrupts to configure.

USB-1024 Series Overview

The USB-1024 Series (USB-1024LS or USB-1024HLS) adds 24 lines of logic-level digital I/O to any USB port. They are configured as either two banks of eight ports and two banks of four ports, or three banks of eight ports. Each port is independently configurable for input or output. Digital I/O lines are accessed through screw terminals. The USB-1024 Series are shipped in a case.
